Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients
2 -Â 8 oz. packages of crescent dinner rolls
1 lb. fresh beef sausage
¼-½ cup milk
8 eggs
1-2 cups shredded sharp cheese (more if you like, or your favorite cheese, Gouda is a favorite for ours)
Preparation
Heat oven to 375-400° F.
Press one package of dough (crescent rolls, making sure the seams are pinched closed) on the bottom and sides of a large lightly buttered casserole dish.
Brown the beef sausage (I like to add a small chopped onion and chopped mushrooms). Drain if there is any fat in the meat.
Sprinkle on top of the dough. In a small bowl, beat the eggs and milk, pour over the meat mixture. Add the cheese.
With the other crescent package, seal the seams and place this over the top of the casserole to close it. Take an egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 Tbsp water) and brush over the top. Bake about 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
