1/2 cup white vinegar
Water to cover the brisket
2 tsp celery seed
2 tsp of onion seed

BBQ Sauce Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups ketchup
3/4 cup chili sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup steak sauce
1/4 cup yellow mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 dash garlic salt
1 dash Tobasco sauce
1 tsp celery seed
1 tsp black pepper
Preparation
Directions for Beef Brisket:
Marinate brisket in a pan big enough to hold entire brisket, liquid smoke, vinegar, onion and celery seed. Mix well. Add enough water to cover half the brisket.Â
Â
Cover the pan with foil and place in the refrigerator for 24 hours. The following day, preheat oven to 275° F, remove the brisket from the refrigerator and drain the liquid. Place a baking rack inside a pan large enough to hold the brisket. Bake for 5 hours. Remove the brisket from the oven and trim off excess fat.
Â
If the meat is very tender, shred the meat instead of slicing.
Â
Directions for Barbecue Sauce:
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and cook on stove top on medium heat for 30 minutes.
Â
Finishing:Â
Cut the beef into thin slices or shred and cover it with barbecue sauce. Top sandwiches with coleslaw and dill pickles.
Â
Add potato chips, onion rings, or other choices.Â
